"God's plan"

God's Plan" is a deeply personal mixed media artwork on canvas, measuring 60 x 48 inches. This piece holds tremendous significance as it marks the pivotal moment that led me onto my artistic path—a journey of self-discovery and creative awakening.

As I contemplated what to create with the canvases I had purchased, my thoughts drifted back to a newspaper article that featured my barbering career. It graced the front page on May 6, 2021.
In June 2022, I had those canvases I purchased in the back of my mind when the memory of that article resurfaced, I wished I had collected more of those clippings, after envisioning a masterpiece that would weave together my barbering and art. Miraculously, a chance encounter at the post office brought an old family friend, we had a short conversation when he congratulates me on the article I was featured in. Then he tells me he had a stack of the articles sitting around in his house and if I'd like to have them. I couldn't believe what I just heard since only three days prior to bumping into him I was just wishing I had some of those articles.
With this extraordinary stroke of luck, I embarked on a creative journey that transcended my previous path as a barber. Using the tools of my trade—razors, combs, shave brushes, hair brushes, scissors, and other familiar implements—I poured my heart and soul into transforming the canvas before me.
"God's Plan" emerged as a testament to the transformative power of art and the profound impact that chance encounters can have on our lives. Through the intricate collage of textures, colors, and symbolism, I sought to capture the essence of my artistic awakening.
